The form.
Our team member or partner takes you through the form on our tablet or their phone. Our team types in your answers. The form asks:
- your energy supplier, whether you have one fuel or both, and how you pay;
- whether you own your home;
- that you are 18 or over, pay the energy bills, and are happy to be called;
- your name, phone number, address and date of birth;
- how you want to hear about offers (you must choose phone or text, or both);
- a consent box, which you must tick to send the form.
The questions are the campaign company’s and can change. You answer the consent questions yourself, on the screen, and nothing is sent until you have. Before sending, our team reads your answers back to you so you can correct them.
Ticking the consent box also confirms that you are 18 or over and pay the energy bills, and enters you into a prize draw. The box names the draw’s terms and a privacy policy but does not show them: ask us for a copy at privacy@syncerauk.com.
Our team may also ask whether your tariff is fixed or variable and whether you have a smart meter. Those answers stay on the screen; we don’t send or keep them.
If you need extra help.
Our rules forbid our team from recording anything about your health or circumstances. They ask their supervisor, who may decide not to record your details at all. That decision is not recorded against you.
How your details are sent.
Your answers go from the device, through our servers, straight to the campaign company’s energy sales platform. They are sent under the login of the person who recorded them.
If there is no signal, they wait on the device, encrypted, until sent. If our system refuses them, they are removed 48 hours later.
Our record of your enquiry.
Besides what our privacy notice lists, our record holds whether you chose a call now or later, and the names of the campaign company’s or the supplier’s staff who called you or checked your details. We check how your enquiry went on the energy sales platform every 15 minutes during the day.
We link the record to a customer record of our own, without your contact details. A photo, document or note on an enquiry registered by hand before 15 September 2026 is kept and deleted like the rest of the record.
If you say no.
If you talk to us but give no details, the anonymous count we keep holds only that a conversation happened, the product, and any reason you gave for saying no. Our team is told not to type anything that identifies you.
Deleting and backups.
We review what is due for deletion each month.
We make encrypted copies of our systems every 3 hours, kept 7 days; daily copies are kept 3 months, and weekly copies 12 months. No copy of our systems is kept longer than 12 months. We also keep a monthly encrypted copy of our files, used only to recover from a failure, and delete older copies on a rolling basis. If we restore a copy, we re-apply deletions before using it.
Using your rights.
We hold references, not your contact details. To help us find your enquiry, tell us:
- the day, and where you met us;
- any reference shown on screen or given by the adviser.
To stop calls and messages, tell the adviser on the call, or email privacy@syncerauk.com and we pass it on to the company that runs the campaign. Ask us at the same address for the campaign company’s or the supplier’s privacy notice and we send it to you.
